Ms. Sierra Ball

Science & Math Educator

Miss Sierra has a special connection to the homeschool community because she was homeschooled herself from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade! She knows firsthand how much curiosity, flexibility, and creativity can be part of a homeschool education, and she loves bringing that same spirit into the classroom.

A Southern California native, Miss Sierra grew up in the small mountain town of Wrightwood before heading to Southern Utah University, where she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and History. She was awarded the President’s Scholarship for academics all four years and was a Dean’s List honoree. She also had the opportunity to take her love of science overseas, completing biology graduate research at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland, and went on to earn her Master of Science from the University of Nebraska.

When she isn’t teaching, you can usually find Miss Sierra swimming, horseback riding, reading, or painting. As both an educator and a former homeschool student herself, she brings a unique perspective to StarBright and loves helping students feel excited, curious, and confident about learning.
