Ms. Angie grew up in Sri Lanka in a family of teachers who placed the value of education on the same level as family harmony. Coming to America as a teenager, she quickly realized the opportunities hard work can offer. She graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a degree in finance, before pursuing her Masters degree from National University.

Miss Sierra has a special connection to the homeschool community because she was homeschooled herself from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade! She knows firsthand how much curiosity, flexibility, and creativity can be part of a homeschool education, and she loves bringing that same spirit into the classroom.

Mr. Thomas brings an incredible depth of experience to StarBright, with nearly three decades of teaching across Language Arts, literature, creative writing, theater, and other creative subjects. He holds a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English, a B.A. in Drama and Theatre, a Master’s in Communication Arts, and a Master’s in Psychology.

Ms. Lamia brings more than 10 years of experience in early childhood education, along with a strong background in curriculum development, classroom leadership, and creating engaging learning environments for young students. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from California State University, Northridge.

Ms. Barbara brings more than 10 years of teaching experience to StarBright and has known since she was a little girl that she wanted to work with children and become an educator.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Barbara earned her degree in Elementary Teaching from the University of Turabo. She has experience working with learners with exceptionalities and especially values the benefits of a small, supportive learning environment, where children can receive more individualized attention and feel comfortable learning at their own pace.

Ms. Graciella believes learning a language should be about so much more than memorizing vocabulary words. Her goal is to get students talking, connecting, exploring, and having fun with Spanish while building the confidence to use what they’re learning in real conversations.

Mr. Adam brings history and social studies to life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and plenty of energy. A lifelong history enthusiast, he graduated cum laude from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in History and holds a California Single Subject Social Science Teaching Credential.

Mr. Park brings a love of problem solving, curiosity, and discovery to his math and science classes. Originally from Texas, he moved to California to attend the University of Southern California, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
