Ms. Barbara Cruz

Elementary School Educator, Grades 3-5

Ms. Barbara (Ms. Bee) brings more than 10 years of teaching experience to StarBright and has known since she was a little girl that she wanted to work with children and become an educator.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Barbara earned her degree in Elementary Teaching from the University of Turabo. She has experience working with learners with exceptionalities and especially values the benefits of a small, supportive learning environment, where children can receive more individualized attention and feel comfortable learning at their own pace.

Barbara enjoys creating an environment where kids feel encouraged to ask questions, participate, and build confidence as they learn. Her experience with different learning needs helps her meet children where they are and find approaches that help each learner feel successful.

Outside of StarBright, Barbara enjoys cooking, arts and crafts, and discovering new hobbies. She loves bringing that same creativity and sense of exploration into the learning environment.
